RECREATION NEWS: The Annual Village of Buchanan Halloween Party will take place on Halloween Day, October 31 at 11:00 a.m. in the Community Room at the Village Hall, 236 Tate Avenue, Buchanan. The party will be preceded by the Annual Halloween parade. The Parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Buchanan Pavilion. Everyone come in your Halloween Costume !! The Halloween Party will feature an Arts & Crafts experience lead by a local Arts & Crafts expert. Refreshments will be served. HAPPY HALLOWEEN.
SENIOR NEWS:
- The two Thursday Night Senior Socials are on the 8th & 22nd from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- At 8:15 on Friday, Oct. 2 the seniors will board the bus at the village Hall for a foliage trip on the “Rip Van Winkle Flyer” luncheon train.
- The Taj-Mahal Casino in Atlantic City will treat us to a magical afternoon with Bobby Vinton on Tues., Oct. 6. Bus departs at 7:45 A.M. from Village Hall.
- “The Christmas Show” at Radio City in N.Y.C. is our destination on Friday, Nov. 13. The bus will leave Village Hall at 8:30 A.M. Lunch at Carmine’s.
- The Hudson Valley Poison Education Center is offering a free educational program to our seniors on Tues., Oct. 13 at 1:00 P.M. A professional group will conduct the program targeted to the needs and concerns of Seniors.
- The Flu Shots will be administered at our Senior Center on Monday, Oct. 26 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
- Rick Della Guardia, from SOS Medicare will speak to our group on Tues., Oct. 27 at 1:00 P.M
- Westchester Co. Clerk’s Mobile Office will be at the Village Hall Parking Lot on Tues., Oct. 20th from 11:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. Westchester County Clerk, Timothy Idoni, will be here at 1:00 P.M. to speak and take questions on “Beware of Rise in Mortgage Debt Scams Targeting Seniors”, DMV Scam, Debt Collector Treats/Scams, Heath Insurance scams.
2010 ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE COMMITTEE MEETING: Yes it is that time again -- time to start thinking about the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at the municipal building next to the pavilion. We would love to have new people join the committee and are looking for suggestions to make the parade an even bigger success than last year.
