Repaving on 9A

The NYS Department of Transportation has notified the Village that their contractor will start milling and paving Route 9A on July 6th.  This work will be taking place overnight.  Please use caution when driving in this area.

A Note from Our Mayor

The Village is fully staffed but we are conducting business by phone and email.  Staff is at Village Hall from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.  Please call if you need assistance.  We will notify the residents when the building is open to visitors.

Also, the Village of Buchanan will not approve the use of the Pavilion until further notice.

Also, the tax bills are now due July 21 2020. The original due date was July 1, 2020 but we were granted an extra 21 days by the Governor.

Thank you for your understanding and patience at this difficult time. If you have any questions, please call or send us an email.  We are here for you.

Be well Buchanan.
Theresa Knickerbocker, Mayor

2020 Census

Please remember to complete the Census 2020 if you have not already done so. As of June 23, 2020, the Village of Buchanan has a 68.1% response rate. Let’s improve those numbers. Remember this is how the Federal government decides on how money is distributed to State, County, local municipalities and school districts.

2020 Day Camp Cancelled, Village Pool Closed

Unfortunately, the Village of Buchanan has decided to cancel the Buchanan Day Camp for the summer of 2020.  Nothing is more important to us than the health, safety, and welfare of our children, our residents, and staff. Current social distancing requirements for the summer would be impossible to enforce in the camp. Residents who have paid in advance will receive a refund from the Village.  Also, we will not be opening the Village Pool for the summer 2020 Season. The Board felt that this would be best since there are new cases of COVID-19 appearing in children that causes inflammation mimicking Kawasaki disease.

Village Elections

The date of the village elections will be announced as soon as possible.
